FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for isomerisation of C4-C7 paraffin hydrocarbons in a hydrogen medium at temperature of 100-250°C, pressure of 1.0-5.0 MPa, volume rate of feeding material of 0.5-6.0 h-1, molar ratio hydrogen:hydrocarbons ranging from 0.1:1 to 5:1 and stabilisation of the isomerisation product and (or) fractionation with separation of specific hydrocarbons or high-octane fractions. The method is characterised by that the catalyst used is a porous zirconium oxide catalyst with mean pore diameter ranging from 8 to 24 nm.
EFFECT: method provides stable depth of isomerisation of straight C4-C7 paraffin hydrocarbons for the entire life of the catalyst and after regeneration thereof.
