FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for isomerisation of paraffin hydrocarbons, including a metal of platinum group applied on a support, consisting of a mixture of aluminium oxide, zirconium oxide and sulphate ion or tungstate ion. Catalyst composition, in which volume of pores with diameter of 5-8 nm is higher than 60 % of total volume of pores, wt%: aluminium oxide - 10.00-40.00, SO4 2- or WO3 2- - 10.00-30.00, platinum group metal - 0.01-3.00, zirconium oxide - balance; or aluminium oxide - 10.00-40.00, at least one metal oxide, selected from: yttrium, magnesium, zinc, calcium, barium, cadmium, strontium 0.10-2.00, SO4 2- or WO3 2- - 10.00-30.00, platinum group metal - 0.01-3.00, zirconium oxide - balance. Invention also relates to a method of preparing said catalyst, involving treatment of aluminium hydroxide, aluminium oxide precursor, only with organic or inorganic acids with acid module 0.01-0.3 or together with at least one metal compound selected from: yttrium, magnesium, zinc, calcium, barium, cadmium, strontium, obtaining a support by mixing treated aluminium hydroxide with zirconium hydroxide, which can be preimpregnated with sulphuric acid or a tungsten compound, or with addition of obtained mixture of hydroxides of sulphuric acid or tungsten compounds, followed by moulding produced mixture, drying and heat treatment at temperature 500-800 °C, application of platinum group metal on support with subsequent heat treatment at temperature of 400-550 °C.
EFFECT: technical result is higher activity, selectivity, strength of catalyst.
