SUBSTANCE: invention relates to piston ICE, particularly, to two-stroke large diesel engine 1 with lengthwise scavenging. Proposed engine comprises, at least, one cylinder 10 with liner 12 accommodating piston 20 reciprocating therein. Cylinder liner 12 has several scavenging air passages 45. Cylinder 10 has additional jacket 26 to surround, at least, liner bottom 12, and liner opening 27. Piston bottom 25 is located between liner 12 and jacket 26. At piston bottom, between scavenging air openings 45 and jacket hole 27, arranged is scavenging air deflector 30, to prevent rectilinear airflow from liner opening 27 to scavenging openings 45.
EFFECT: higher engine reliability.
