FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to machine building industry. Torsional vibration damper includes external and internal housings connected to each other by means of elastic elements working for torsion. Internal housing is meant to be installed on the shaft subject to torsional vibrations. External housing is installed coaxially with internal housing and acts as inert mass. End cover plates form together with housings the annular cavity filled with working fluid. Radial seals are provided for sealing of the above cavity. Alternating internal and external discs are installed with an axial gap relative to each other and do not prevent the turn of one housing relative to the other.
EFFECT: achieving the possibility of damping of torsional vibrations at high shaft speeds without rigid attachment to the base.
