SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring volume (mass of liquid), in particular, to definition of mass of an oil product stored in large elastic containers, and may be used at fuelling stations, tank farms of warehouses and petroleum storage depots that use elastic reservoirs for storage of oil products. The invention concept is as follows: the method to identify mass of oil products in an elastic reservoir with available area of the inner surface of the elastic reservoir S_in.surf.ER. is carried out with account of permeability of a structural material with an oil product and average temperature of surface of the reservoir shell T_av for the period of storage N_day. At the same time calibrated tables are designed, which reflect variation of permeability in a structural material, from which the elastic material is made, based on the type of the analysed oil product and temperature of shell of the elastic reservoir, and calculation is carried out on the produced experimental dependence.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of detecting oil product mass in an elastic reservoir at any moment of storage.
