FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to field tests of ammunition and may be used, in particular, to vary characteristics of a fragment cloud of a projectile. The method consists in blasting of a projectile on the movement trajectory, formation of the fragment cloud of the projectile, detection of the quantity of projectile fragments based on analysis of quantity of serial actuations of sensitive elements of photodetector arrays, and detection of coordinates and speeds of movement of projectile fragments on the basis of information on spatial positions of actuated sensitive elements of photodetector arrays. The device comprises four spaced sensors arranged in the form of arrays of radiating diodes and arrays of photodetectors, and also a device for throwing a projectile and actuation of a projectile detonating fuse, units of measurements and calculations.
