FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: laser distance meter includes a light guide whose input opening lies next to the output opening of the optical system of the transmitting channel, and its output opening is directed onto the sensitive area of the photodetector of the receiving channel. The input optical axis of the light guide is directed at such an angle to the optical axis of the transmitting channel that energy of radiation reflected from targets at a distance ranging from R0 to R1, which reaches the sensitive area of the photodetector, corresponds to the operating threshold of the latter, where R0<R1 is the given minimum measured range; R1 is the length of the shadow zone formed in the range of distances, where the field of view of the transmitting and receiving channels does not overlap.
EFFECT: reducing the minimum measured range by reducing the shadow zone of the apparatus function.
