FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises the following steps: a) receiving position data from a positioning device; b) displaying the type of the road junction on a display (18) when approaching the road junction with a navigation system. The type of the road junction indicates data relating to the type of the road junction in real life, including images of each indicator on the road junction as seen by the user of the navigation system; c) receiving route information from route planning software which indicates the route to be followed by the user; d) selecting on the display (18) the indicator associated to the road segment which must be followed by the use from all other indicators shown on the display (18).
EFFECT: increasing the driver's capacity to manoeuvre on a road junction and absent-mindedness and uncertainty, which improves driving safety.
