FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: method and system of positioning data contain: classification of data on speed, associated with at least some segments of navigation, containing data on speed, associated with an observed object, multiple category of classification, according to which data on speed may be classified according to the parameter of the segment capable of navigation, with which data on speed is associated; the stage and facilities for generation of the average value of the category for each category within classification; the stage and facilities for assessment of at least some segments with the capability of object navigation within the map data for detection of whether there is data about speed associated with the object; and if there is no data about speed associated with the segment capable of navigation, average category values are used, according to the parameter of the processed segment with the possibility of segment navigation.
EFFECT: expansion of functional capabilities.
