METHOD OF PREDICTING PROGRESSION OF ACQUIRED MYOPIA IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B8/10

Abstract RU 2471423 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Standard scheme of examination of children with myopia is supplemented with carrying out confocal scanning laser retinal tomography in order to determine coefficient of edema "E" in macular area. If its value in R1-Central zone in case of mild degree myopia is higher than 0.78±0.04, in case of moderate degree myopia is higher than 1.08±0.04, in case of high degree myopia is higher than 2.18±0.1, progression of acquired myopia is predicted during initial visit of patient.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to make prediction with application of reliable, accurate and non-invasive method, which in future makes it possible to elaborate tactics of patient management.
