METHOD FOR TREATING MILD AND MODERATE MYOPIA Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61H1/00

Abstract RU 2737494 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology, and can be used to reduce degree or stabilization of nearsightedness and increase visual acuity, stabilization of subjective and objective refraction, increase of volumes of relative accommodation, normalization of vegetative status and general condition in persons with nearsightedness of weak and medium degree. Method of treating mild-to-moderate nearsightedness involves drug-induced treatment, acupuncture and massage. Proposed complex comprises combined application of vitamin therapy on background of independent exercises aimed at stimulation of accommodation, and instillation of 2.5 % irifrin solution overnight for 14 days, physiotherapy - magnetophoresis with taufon solution 4 % with the help of AMO-ATOS apparatus, frequency of modulations 1–2 Hz in pulsating mode of magnetic field and laser therapy using apparatus Lot - 01, NG-01 head with KS shape converter, laser radiation power from 0.3 to 3.0 mW, wavelength of 0.63 ± 0.03 mcm for 10 sessions. Also, acupuncture paraorbital acupuncture acupuncture is used E 1 (2) TR 23 (2), PC3, PC 82, V2 (2), VB 1 (2), E 2 (2), PC 92, V1 (2), E 1 (2) and acupuncture and auricular points of general action acupuncture E36 (2), AT 24b, E 252, AT24a, TR 72, AT 55, Gi 4 (2), AT51, MC 62, AT 8, V392, AT 24a,b, MC 82, AT 55, F3 (2), MC 62, AT 24 a,b, Gi 11 (2). That is followed by 1 session of post-isometric relaxation of neck muscles involving counter-retention of the head due to rotationally differentiated hands, wherein the lying patient's position, the doctor is at the head end, the patient's head is maximally turned in the opposite direction to the right in relation to the stressed rotators, wherein patient's head rests against doctor's hands, one hand, left, fixes head from left side, other hand, right, provides head rotation to right before pre-stressing, turning the eyes in the opposite direction to the left and then inhaling cause a tonic stress of the rotators on the left, and this isometric operation is maintained for 6–8 seconds; then patient turns view towards head rotation to the right and exhales, at this time there is relaxation of rotators to the left and initial volume of rotation to the right increases; 3 repetitions are performed. Only session of post-isometric relaxation is combined with the last session of acupuncture.

EFFECT: method enables low and medium degree myopia patients with high effectiveness to increase visual acuity, stabilize objective and subjective refraction, increase volumes of relative accommodation, normalize vegetative status and improve patient's general condition for a long period of up to 1 year.
