FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in die forming of gears, flanges, thick-wall rings and bushes. Die forming of half-stock is carried out by die top section with, at least, one tapered annular element. The latter is formed at die bottom. Annular element tapered surface section adjoining the die parting surface represents annular ledge with two-sided rakes. Portion of metal equal to nominal allowance on annular element is arranged between said rakes. Diametres of annular element bases on the side of top and bottom die parts equal rated diametres of die forging and finished part. Then, half-stock is reduced in pushing it out from die bottom part. Deforming force is applied to annular element in direction opposite half-stock forming force.
EFFECT: lower labour input and costs.
