FIELD: printing.
SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to a protective element with variable optical properties for protection of valuable items. The protective element has a paint layer with variable optical properties, containing the first pigments with variable optical properties to create a visual impression that is dependent on the angle of observation, and second pigments reversibly oriented by the external magnetic field. At that, the degree of manifestation of visual impression, which depends on the angle of observation of visual impression created by pigments with variable optical properties, depends on the orientation of magnetic-oriented pigments relative to the plane of the paint layer.
EFFECT: proposed protective element provides increased protection against forgery, which visual image can be interactively affected during fraudulent check.
