SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to protection of automobiles. Automobile radar is used to generate two times intervals and to compare said intervals. One interval extends from origination of signals with frequencies Fdo=2Vo fo/C and 3Fdo to radar detection thereof. Another interval extends from origination of signals with frequencies (N+2)Fdo and (N-2)Fdo to radar detection thereof. When distances between automobile and approaching vehicle will correspond to Do+(Vi/Vo)Do, 3Do+(Vi/Vo)Do. (N+2)Do+(Vi/Vo)Do and (N-2)Do+(Vi/Vo)Do, where N is number exceeding 5, C is light velocity, Vi is radial speed of approach, fo is Do/Vo=flo/Fm dfm, where Fm and dfm are signal modulation frequency and frequency deviation, respectively. Do and Vo are known values of distance and speed. If first interval is two times smaller than second, collision is a must. If not, there will be no collision. Signal generator comprises transceiver antenna, transmitter of continuous signal frequency with frequency modulation by one-side saw linear-increase law, two mixers, differential frequency filter, two continuous frequency generators, narrow-band filter, limiting amplifier, wideband filter, amplitude detector, comparator, pulse oscillator, analog adder, shift register, count pulse oscillator, reversing counter, digital comparator, biased flip-flop, three element AND, two element OR, halver, switch.
EFFECT: smaller overall dimensions, lower costs.
