FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: method is realised by measuring Doppler frequency in the far and near detection ranges of a radar station and comparing values thereof which are different if a missile misses an object and are identical if the missile strikes, as well as by selecting frequency of the signal emitted by the radar station under the condition: Do/Vo=fo/Fmdfm, where fo is the frequency of the emitted continuous signal which is frequency-modulated based on a symmetrical triangular curve law, Vi is the radial velocity of the missile, Fm and dfm are modulation frequency and frequency deviation of the signal, respectively, Do is the known lead compensation, Vo and Fdo are the radial velocity and Doppler frequency of the protective ordnance, and comparing duration of the second time interval and half of the first time interval, the first of which is formed between the onset and detection by the radar station of signals of frequency N+4)Fdo and NFdo, respectively, where N is a number greater than 3, and the second is formed between the onset and detection of signals of frequency 3Fdo and Fdo, respectively, when the distances between the radar station and the missile is: (N+4)Do+(Vi/Vo)Do, NDo+(Vi/Vo)Do, 3Do+(Vi/Vo)Do and Do+(Vi/Vo)Do, respectively, and which are equal for accurate striking of the object by the missile and different for inaccurate striking. The apparatus for improving reliability of determining missile miss of a secure facility includes a frequency radio range finder, a storage unit, a comparator circuit, an OR element, a narrow-band signal detector and a unit for generating instructions for launching the protective ordnance.
EFFECT: high reliability of determining missile miss of a secure facility, which is achieved using methods implemented using one transmit-receive microwave module of a frequency radio range finder.
