SUBSTANCE: invention relates to low-combustibility polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibre and a method for production thereof. The method involves drawing PET fibre in an adsorption-active liquid medium containing at least one modifying additive in the presence of a sizing agent and heat treatment of the fibre, wherein the modifying additive is selected from a group comprising ammonium hydrophosphate, ammonium dihydrophosphate and ammonium polyphosphate.

EFFECT: optimisation of the method of producing low-combustibility PET.
