FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of processing liquid radioactive wastes from use of decontamination solutions involves sorption of radionuclides, treating with reagents at room temperature, precipitation using a coagulant, oxidation in the presence of a catalyst at temperature of 75±2°C, mixing the suspension, separating the radioactive sorbent and cementing thereof using a binding system, characterised by that the sorbent used is finely dispersed natural sorbent - tripoli with particle size of 0.1-0.3 mm, which is heat treated at temperature of 350±20°C in amount of ≤10 g/l; the reagents used are soluble salts of transition metals (Felll, Coll, Nill) in amount of not less than 0.012 moles metal per litre of liquid wastes and sodium hydroxide solution in molar ratio Me+n :NaOH= 1:3; the coagulant used is calcium oxide in amount of not less than 1 g/l liquid radioactive wastes; the oxidant used is potassium permanganate in amount of 0.04-0.32 g/l liquid radioactive wastes; the catalyst used is CaO in amount of 1 g/l liquid radioactive wastes; the radioactive sorbent is cemented using an alkaline-slag binding system containing ground blast-furnace slag, a clay component and sodium hydroxide.
EFFECT: invention improves parameters of decontaminating liquid radioactive wastes formed during deactivation by simplifying the technological process, use of widely used and cheap natural sorbents with high selectivity with respect to radionuclides.
