FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises making specimen of road construction materials to be tested. Said specimen is saturated with water simulating actual operating conditions of paving in appropriate season and places in dilatometer chamber. Said chamber is filled with working fluid, sealed and place in heat-chamber wherein its if frozen or heated at preset rate to preset temperature, minus 60 degrees Centigrade or plus 60 degrees Centigrade. Note here that working fluid volume change in measured by level gage to estimate linear deformation from revealed variation. Proposed set of hardware comprises device to saturate specimen with fluid, at least, one dilatometer chamber to house specimen to be tested communicated with fluid level gage, polymethyl siloxane fluid, and heat-chamber with temperature controller. Proposed method and set allow accurate estimation of linear heat deformations and proper selection of materials for making paving.
EFFECT: higher quality, longer life, higher traffic safety.
