FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is a method of estimating the cumulative dose of ionising β-radiation using solid-state thermoluminescent detectors and can be used in personal dosimetry and in monitoring the radiation environment in different conditions. The method involves heating said detector from room temperature while simultaneously measuring thermoluminescence intensity and subsequently estimating the absorbed dose from parameters of the obtained thermoluminescence curve, wherein the solid-state thermoluminescent detector used is monocrystalline aluminium nitride AlN; the detector is heated to temperature of at least 400°C, and thermoluminescence intensity is measured only within the wavelength range from 340 to 380 nm.
EFFECT: wider range of linearity of the dose curve, high accuracy of estimating absorbed dose of β-radiation, wider field of use of the method, wider range of methods of determining absorbed dose of ionising β-radiation in a solid-state thermoluminescent detector.
