FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of determining the absorbed dose of ionising ultraviolet or beta-radiation in an aluminium nitride based detector is based on stimulating the detector with optical radiation with wavelength of 470 nm or higher, measuring intensity of the optically stimulated luminescence of the detector in the 260-390 nm range during stimulation of the detector with optical radiation and determining the area under the obtained curve of the intensity of optically stimulated luminescence, wherein the aluminium nitride based detector used is monocrystalline aluminium nitride; before stimulating the detector, the intensity of damped phosphorescence of the detector is measured in the 260-390 nm range; the measured value of intensity of damped phosphorescence is used to determine the area under the curve of the intensity of damped phosphorescence acting during stimulation of the detector with optical radiation; the difference between values of the area under the curve of intensity of optically stimulated luminescence and under the curve of intensity of damped phosphorescence is then determined, and said difference is used to determine the absorbed dose.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring the absorbed dose, wider range of use of silicon nitride monocrystal based detectors in solid-state dosimetry of ionising radiations.
