FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of measuring energy spectra of pulsed gamma radiation involves passing gamma radiation through absorbing filters, detecting radiation, processing the obtained information and reconstructing the energy spectrum of gamma radiation. Gamma radiation is detected using a heterogeneous scintillation detector, wherein radiation is detected by photodetectors which are separate for each layer in current mode for duration of the gamma radiation pulse τ, with high time resolution, to obtain source information for mathematical reconstruction of the gamma radiation spectrum at time t<τ.
EFFECT: obtaining source information for mathematical reconstruction of a gamma radiation spectrum at different moments in time.
