FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: known dosimeters are used to measure exposure doses of gamma quanta, first from one radiation source and then successively from 2…n sources, from which the desired spectrum of gamma quanta is determined, with constant arrangement scheme thereof relative to the dosimeter; the input (ξ) of gamma quanta from all sources in the dosimeter readings is calculated by solving a system of recurrent, the right-hand part of which represents formulae for calculating absorbed doses of gamma quanta in air, and the left-hand part represents exposure dose measurements. Energy spectra of the gamma quanta are determined from the values of ξ.

EFFECT: simple method of determining the spectrum of gamma quanta in radiation fields from different sources, enabling use of the method in weak and intense radiation fields, on static and pulsed installations.
