SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing stratified vermiculite, which is used for heat insulation, involving the following steps: heating non-stratified hydrated vermiculite to temperature of 400-600°C for 3-7 hours.
EFFECT: obtaining dry vermiculite; contacting dry vermiculite with a solution containing an intercalation reagent which can decompose with release of gases.
