FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: scanning is performed by rotation of active space vehicle (SV) with a rigidly installed laser locator (LL) around construction line "-OX" of active SV till passive space object is detected. Width of LL probe radiation diagram in one direction is minimum, and divergence angle in perpendicular direction is equal to aperture angle of a cone forming a view zone.

EFFECT: improving reliability owing to avoiding optical and mechanical scanning using moving parts, especially for the purpose of detecting the object under space flight conditions.
