FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding and may be used in various industries in mounting and repair of metal structures made from perlite steels to meet stringent quality requirements. Direct polarity arc is supplied by shot-term welding current pulses in continuous displacement of electrode along joint of parts being welded together. Welding is carried out by current with pulse repetition rate selected subject to maximum tolerable size of gas inclusions and welding rate whereat welding bat is formed with shape approximating to oval. Welding rate and size of gas inclusions are interrelated by empirically supported relationship. Welding current pulse duration is selected equal to 0.1-0.5 of one welding cycle duration. Welding current pulse is selected to be 1.3-2.5 times larger than basic welding current in pause.
EFFECT: higher quality of welded joint.
