SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft engines. Fuel tank system comprises fuel tank 2, engine fuel line and water removal system. Proposed system comprises water tank 3, water exhaust line connected therewith, water discharge line communicating with water tank. Water discharge line outlet may be connected with engine fuel line in operation. Water exhaust line inlet may be submerged in water on water tank bottom, below water exhaust line outlet. Proposed method comprises filling fuel tank with fuel 30 to make fuel bring hydrostatic pressure on water. Said pressure makes water move upward in water exhaust line on overcoming gravity and enter water tank. Application hydrostatic pressure allows simple and automatic water withdrawal from fuel tank bottom. Water tank allows storing withdrawn water unless its reuse in aircraft engine.
EFFECT: higher reliability.
