FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises fusing and forming optical fibre blank, stretching fused and formed section of said blank to make uncoated optical fibre, forced cooling said blank in cooler, forming protective layer on said cooled uncoated section in device for coat application and coat hardening. Note here that said method comprises the following additional stages whereat: said cooler and device for coat application are tightly communicated. To prevent inleaks of cooling gas inside cooler, cooling air is forced with help wit resin meniscus into device for coat application from top end of the cooler as ascending flow. Helium gas is fed into cooler bottom for cooling purposes. Gaseous cooling carbon dioxide, separated from said helium gas, is fed onto lateral surface below the inlet of helium gas. During said forced cooling, helium and carbon dioxide consumption is individually controlled.
EFFECT: invariable diameter of resin coat.
