FIELD: application of coats on optical fibers. SUBSTANCE: method of application of liquid of liquid polymer coat on optical waveguide fiber consists in delivery of process fluid medium to chamber and passing this medium along fiber being fed in way opposite to motion of fibers for removal of particles from fiber being fed before they get in spinneret unit. Flow of medium near fiber has maximum measured rate no less that 1.5/s. Device includes spinneret holder, calibrated and guide spinnerets and process medium inlet. Reservoir for delivery of liquid is formed between calibrated and guide spinnerets. Chamber surrounds fiber between guide spinneret and intake end of spinneret holder. Minimum diameter of chamber is no less than 4.6 mm. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of removal of contaminants in form of particles in liquid coats. 15 cl, 7 dwg
