FIELD: production of wave guides. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing first core region including rod of quartz glass containing at least first addition agent into central opening of core second region including ultradispersed quartz containing second addition agent; compressing first core region and second core region for forming composite core region; applying enclosure onto outer surface of composite region. Method allows fiber resistant to attenuation increase due to hydrogenous and thermal aging to be produced. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of optical waveguides. 18 cl, 4 dwg
