FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used for machining shell rings, rollers and other cylindrical parts, including to those of diameter approximating to 7000 mm. Furnace rotary shell ring outer cylindrical surface is reconditioned by grinding in furnace operation. To this end, used is the grinder with grinding tool composed of endless abrasive tale with pulleys, one drive pulley thereof, and support wheel. Proposed device is mounted on worktable with lengthwise guides, drive motor with integral gearbox, and crossbar interacting with shell ring outer cylindrical surface by rollers. Grinding tool is spring loaded relative to worktable to allow free rolling of support wheel over crossbar. Endless abrasive tape drive pulley is fitted on the shaft of said drive motor.
EFFECT: optimised reconditioning.
