FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: crankpins are processed on a lathe when the large-sized crankshaft rotates around the axis of the crusts alternately by grinding and turning. In this case, a grinding device is used comprising an endless abrasive belt of the appropriate grain size stretched on the rollers which is attached to the slide support of the lathe and a turning device comprising a two-position tool head with a right or left cutter and three support rollers for placing on the connecting rod of crankpin, which is fixed on the support of the lathe.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to increase the accuracy of processing and to reduce the roughness of the surfaces of the connecting rod necks.
