SUBSTANCE: volume-combined armour comprises a highly rigid layer from tightly packed ceramic cylinders with convex ends connected by a binder into a monolith and a high-strength power-intensive rear layer, at the same time axes of ceramic elements of the frontal layer are arranged at the angle of 60-85° relative to the armour plane.
EFFECT: improved reliability and efficiency of armour protection.
