FIELD: means of protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection from armor-piercing bullets. Volume-combined armor contains a highly rigid layer from tightly packed ceramic cylinders with convex faces joined by binder in the monolith, axes of which are located at an angle relative to the plane of the armor, high-strength and energy-intensive back layer, at that, ratio of height of ceramic cylinders to the diameter ranges from 0.8 to 1.2, and angles of inclination of cylinders axes to armor plane is 70-75°.
EFFECT: higher reliability and efficiency of armor protection due to stable armor properties.
