FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: cartographic reference and current images of a territory are obtained, variation parameters of the current cartographic image are compared with the reference cartographic image and noise is filtered from the images. Before comparing variation parameters of the images, preliminary coordinates of the object are determined, the section of the territory is recognised and an integral cartographic reference image is formed. Integral information-bearing parameters of the compared images are obtained, while selecting multidimensional parameters among them and increasing the latter by a value defined by the required accuracy of estimating coordinates of the object. Change in shape, topology and colour of the section of the territory is determined.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities owing to higher accuracy, faster determination of coordinates of movement of the object and noise-immunity.
