SUBSTANCE: number of serial packets neglected as a result of an event of expiration of a neglecting timer and/or other causes, may be tracked and compared with a number of permitted serial neglected packets. If the number of serial neglected packets does not exceed the number of permitted serial packets, traditional operations of processing, such as modification of headings and compression, coding, etc., may be omitted for appropriate packets following the neglected packet, thus considerably reducing the volume of service processing information. Besides, the number of permitted serial neglected packets may be selected to maintain synchronisation when compressing headers (for instance, robust header compression (RoHC)), synchronisation during coding and/or other suitable properties.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of a transmitting device due to simplified efficient processing of packets.
