FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for layerwise snow sampling to detect pollution of a snow cover related to frost condensation of industrial emissions as those are deposited from surface air when hoarfrost is formed, and also to study layerwise variability of geochemical parameters of snow related to sublimate metamorphism of snow thickness in process of snow cover generation. The snow sampler comprises a prism of four rectangular plates, three of which are rigidly fixed to each other along edges, forming stiffening ribs, and the fourth one is arranged as detachable. At the same time for sampling snow in equal portions in process of vertical sampling of snow cover with complex stratification of snow thickness, which contains snow horizons with interlayers of dense and frozen inclusions not sized along strike, the snow sampler is equipped with a frame installed inside the snow sampler in the form of transverse and longitudinal stiffening ribs. Longitudinal ribs are made in the form of roller guides, and crosspieces - in the form of metal plates. To fix the frame at the required depth, the inner plate-crosspiece at the edges comprises fixed fixators-ledges, and the outer one - movable ones. At the same time their mobility is provided by reciprocal motion of stems-fixators in cylinders fixed at the ends of the outer plate-crosspiece. Limitation of reciprocal travel and protrusion of stems-fixators is controlled with a spring mechanism fixed on the front plate-crosspiece. The snow sampler is equipped with a knife tray arranged in the form of a rectangular box without a rear wall with a sharpened outer edge of the base. On side walls of the knife tray there are rolled guides interacting with roller guides of the frame, and height of knife tray walls is more than the fixed pitch of sampling.
