FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: method for collecting snow for environmental studies at sites where it is concentrated using a sampler is disclosed, which includes pressing it into a dense snow mass with an impact device, filling the sample receptacle with snow, then closing the check valve, lifting the sample receptacle using a cable and an extraction device, and extracting the sample in a plastic liner structure, which is then cut into selected intervals, followed by hermetically sealed packaging of the open holes of the parts with plugs with sealing rings to transport the samples, while an impact device is used to immerse in the dense snow mass, the impact of which is received by the metal part of the sample receptacle. A device for implementing the said method is also claimed.

EFFECT: obtaining a representative sample of snow regardless of the degree of snow caking, as well as increasing the operational capabilities of the sampler due to more reliable extraction of samples from the device, storage and transportation of samples.
