FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometeorology and can be used for measurement of the accruing deposits of sublimation ice accumulation on the snow cover surface. Essence of the invention: a hoar-frost measurement site is organised for observation of snow crystals on the snow cover surface during the period between snowfalls. The height of snow cover is regularly measured. The formation of sublimation hoar-frost by existence of sublimation ice needle-shaped or plumose crystals is registered. The intensity of the sublimation hoar-frost forming by the growth of height of snow cover during the period between snowfalls. The readings of height of gain of deposits of sublimation ice needle-shaped or plumose crystals of hoarfrost are registered. The quantitative account of the formed deposits of sublimation ice-hoarfrost on the snow cover surface is kept during the period between snowfalls. The level of snow cover pollution is determined.

EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of measurement and quantitative accounting of deposits of sublimation ice-hoarfrost during the period between snowfalls.
