FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: hydroacoustic navigation system has a navigation base consisting of M hydroacoustic transponders with different response frequencies, a hydroacoustic transceiver, apparatus for measuring signal propagation time intervals; some of the M hydroacoustic transponders of the navigation base are mounted at the seabed, while the rest lie on the water surface and are equipped with satellite radio navigation system signal receivers. The antenna of the hydroacoustic transceiver has an electronically controlled beam pattern, wherein said control is carried out using a navigation computer, the number of beams of the beam pattern of which is kept equal to the number of transponder beacons, and their width is inversely proportional to the distance from the corresponding transponder beacons to the navigation object.
EFFECT: longer range of the system.
