FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to grinding of mineral stock. Proposed ball mills differs from known designs in that maximum quantity of additional balls are fitted in between main balls. Main balls feature identical diameter. Additional ball diameter makes 0.22-0.73 of main ball diameter. Weight of additional ball makes 0.016-0.56 of main ball weight to reach 56% thereof. This allows a sharp increase in density of balls to 5900-6100 kg/m3. Increase in said density brings about notable increase in power-to-weight ratio equal to ball-to-ground material weight ratio. Said ratio exceeds that of common mill by 2-2.5 times.
EFFECT: increased density and 30%-increase in efficiency.
