FIELD: automobile production.

SUBSTANCE: device provides object detection by measuring the change of the detection device capacity and includes at least a pair of sensing platforms, each of which is capable of transmitting and receiving an electric field. Each sensing platform can be used for measurement of change of the platform full resistance; each sensing platform is excited with excitation buses of full resistance measuring system. That system includes an inverter, a generator, a power bus exciter and switches; it is capable of changing the function of the sensing platform from an electric field transmitter function to an electric field receiver function or a full resistance measuring device function by connecting or disconnecting the generator excitation at the inlet of inverter power buses exciter. A bumper can be used as a part of an external end panel, on which object detection device is to be installed.

EFFECT: improving perception effectiveness of the object presence in detection zone, including at available impulse interference.
