METHOD FOR FASTER FORMATION AND REPAIR OF LAWNS Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A01G1/00 

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and may be used to create and repair lawns. The method includes creation of a grass cover using swollen vermiculite and a mixture of seeds. Crops are coated with a polyethylene film, which is removed after herbage has established. In the method they use swollen vermiculite with granules of up to 3 mm and mix it with seeds of lawn herbs. Then it is placed into reservoirs and filled with water, where it is soaked for 1-2 hours. Then excess moisture is removed, providing for air ingress into a reservoir, and the mixture is maintained for at least 3 days under positive temperatures. Then the mixture with sprouted herb seeds is applied with a layer of up to 1 cm onto a soil surface ready for landscape gardening or onto a section of a lawn subject to repair. Crops are coated with a polymer film, which is removed in 4-5 days. Mixing of the swollen vermiculite with seeds of lawn herbs may be done in terms of 40 g of seeds per 3 l of vermiculite. Water pouring into a reservoir may be done in amount of 2.0-2.5 l per 3 l of the mixture.

EFFECT: method is simple to realise, is applicable even under unfavourable climatic conditions of the Extreme North, and makes it possible to considerably accelerate and reduce costs for creation or repair of a grass-turf lawn cover.
