FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an active matrix substrate on which there are a plurality of pixel electrodes in one pixel region; and a liquid crystal display device (based on a pixel division system), having an active matrix substrate. Each pixel region includes a first and a second pixel electrode (17a, 17b) and from a first to a third capacitor electrode (67x-67z), each lying in a layer in which a data signal line (15) is located. One electroconductive transistor electrode (9), the first pixel electrode (17a) and the second capacitor electrode (67y) are electrically connected to each other. Each of the first and third capacitor electrodes (67x, 67z) is electrically connected to the second pixel electrode (17y). The first-third capacitor electrodes are aligned in said order in a row direction such that they are superimposed on a retention capacitor line (18) through a first insulating film, and the second capacitor electrode (67y) is superimposed on the second pixel electrode (17b) through a second insulating film.
EFFECT: high output when making an active matrix substrate based on a capacitor coupled pixel division system, and a liquid crystal panel having an active matrix substrate.
