FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Volatile compounds of formula M'(PF3)4, where M' is Pt or Pd, are obtained by vacuum heating of a halide-containing compound of a platinum metal in the presence of copper powder. The obtained compounds are treated with phosphorus trifluoride at high temperature and pressure of 3-10 MPa. Volatile compounds of formula HxM"(PF3)4, where M" is Rh or Ir, for which x=1, or Ru or Os, for which x=2, are obtained by vacuum heating of a halide-containing compound of a platinum metal in the presence of copper powder. The obtained compounds are treated with phosphorus trifluoride at pressure of 3-10 MPa and with hydrogen at pressure of 1-5 MPa at high temperature. In both versions, the copper powder is obtained directly in the reactor, into which the halide-containing compound of a platinum metal is then fed.

EFFECT: methods enable to obtain a volatile compound of phosphorus trifluoride of platinum metals with high output in lesser stringent conditions than existing methods, which simplifies implementation and increases efficiency of the process.
