METHOD TO DETECT POSITION OF CUTTING EDGE OF MOTOR GRADER BLADE Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC E02F9/20

Abstract RU 2478757 C2

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method to detect position of a cutting edge of a motor grader blade includes determination of position of a cutting edge of a motor grader in a system of coordinates related to the area. At the same time angles of rotation - pitch, list and hunting of a traction frame are determined relative to the main frame of the motor grader. Using a computing machine and formulas of coordinates conversion, coordinates of points are determined on a cutting edge of a motor grader blade in a system of coordinates related to the motor grader. Simultaneously, with the help of a system of satellite navigation and antennas rigidly installed on the main frame of the motor grader, position of the motor grader is defined, as well as a position of related system of coordinates in the system of coordinates related to the area. Then, using the computing machine, coordinates of points are determined on the cutting edge of the motor grader blade in the system of coordinates related to the motor grader.

EFFECT: determination of current deviations of a cutting edge of a blade from specified height elevations of a processed surface and possibility to efficiently eliminate these deviations in manual or automatic mode.
