FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: composition contains (a) a continuous phase composed of a matrix of at least one elastic hydrophobic polymer incompatible with starch, said polymer being selected from the class of polyesters containing carboxylic diacid and diol groups; (b) a homogeneously dispersed starch phase in form of nanoparticles. A film with thickness of 20 mcm obtained from said composition and tested according to ASTM D882 is characterised by a K factor greater than 28 and by arithmetic mean size of the particles of said dispersed starch phase (b) of less than 0.25 mcm. The K factor is calculated using the formula: K=(breaking load)×(Young's modulus)×(breaking energy)/1000000. The invention also relates to a film and textile products made from said biodegradable composition, as well as a bag or sack made from said film and used to carry commodities and pack food products.
EFFECT: biodegradable compositions have a high load, improved modulus, high breaking strength in two directions without any transverse displacement and are particularly advantageous for producing thin films.
