FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a starch-based composition, including: (a) at least, 51 wt % of a plasticised starch composition, which includes starch and a plasticiser for the said starch, obtained by thermomechanical mixing of granulated starch and the plasticiser for the said starch, (b) not more than 49 wt % of, at least, one non-starch polymer and (c) a binding agent with molecular weight less than 5000, containing two functional groups, and, at least, one of which is capable of reacting with the plasticiser and, at least, the other of which is capable of reacting with starch and/or a non-starch polymer, with the said quantities being expressed relative to solid substances and relate to the sum of (a) and (b). The invention also relates to a method of obtaining such composition and to a thermoplastic starch composition for application in processing of plastics, obtained by its heating.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to create thermoplastic compositions, possessing improved properties of water resistance and mechanical strength.
