SAFETY DEVICE Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC H02H9/04

Abstract RU 2479906 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: device for protection of equipment connected to a high-voltage DC line comprises a current valve (12), comprising at least one semiconducting device (13) and a rectifying element (14), connected back-to-back with it. A discharger (16) for protection against spark overvoltages is configured to connect the specified current valve (12) to the specified line (2), and a control unit (15) is configured to control the current valve (12), so that it serves as a conductor for removal of current from the line (2) to the ground (11).

EFFECT: protection reliability improvement.
