SUBSTANCE: according to the method, from the moment the first short circuit current surge appears on transformer busbars, time of its duration is measured, this time is compared with the time of actuation delays of all SCBs installed in the lines and outgoing from the substation busbars, if the measured time is equal with the time of protection actuation delay in one SCB, the disconnected SCB is detected, and from the moment the first short circuit current surge is disconnected, count of time is started, which is equal to the time of AR of the disconnected SCB. Occurrence of the second short circuit current surge is monitored, and if it occurs at the moment of counted time expiration, then the fact of reclosure of this circuit breaker during short circuit is identified, and from the moment of connection count of protection actuation time is started with acceleration of the disconnected SCB. Disconnection of the second short circuit current surge is monitored, and if at the moment of protection actuation delay time expiration with acceleration the second short circuit current surge is disconnected, then the fact of unsuccessful automatic reclosure of a sectionalising circuit breaker along a radial line is identified.
