FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: fuel injector (1) includes a control valve. The control valve controls back-and-forth movement of piston (3). The control valve includes needle (5) with guide opening (6) and injector part (8). Needle (5) has the possibility of directed back-and-forth movement along axis (4). Guide part (7) for needle (5) guiding is provided on the end of injector part (8). Lift opening (9) passes along axis (4) through injector part (8) to guide part (7). Fuel can flow through lift opening (9) from control cavity (10) to control back-and-forth movement of piston (3) to annular cavity (11). Annular cavity (11) is located between guide opening (6) and guide part (7). Lift opening (9) ends with transverse opening (14) passing transversely to it in guide part (7). Before entering transverse opening (14), lift opening (9) has throttling geometry (15) that converges the flow passage for formation of drain throttle (12).
EFFECT: reduction of cavitation in fuel flow in drain throttle zone.
